About

Each year, nestled in the redwoods of UC Santa Cruz, a few scientists begin their journey into the world of science writing. The students maintain Out of the Fog throughout the school year with exciting posts about San Francisco Bay Area research. Students workshop their initial posts during the fall, then report original ideas on their own in winter and spring. Many posts include the students’ photography, infographics, or videos. Students often cross-post their blogs on sites such as CNN, Scientific American, and the American Geophysical Union.
